Description
Irish whiskey is made from grains, water, and yeast. The key grains are barley (malted and unmalted) and corn. The use of unmalted barley is one of the main differences between Irish whiskey and Scotch production. It began as a way to reduce tax imposed on malted barley in the middle of the 19th century.
